Meet Our Team
Jason Bear is responsible for managing client portfolios. Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Jason loves to dissect business models. Every conversation he has, every book he reads, and each annual report he reviews, is an opportunity to learn and approach challenges in new and creative ways. Jason works directly with clients on their goals, and is completely transparent about what we can and cannot do. You never wonder what’s on his mind, and he’s never short on ideas. This approach allows Compass the flexibility to go against the grain when necessary, and instill confidence in long-term goals when markets inevitably move between excesses of fear and greed.
Before joining Compass, Jason worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland and Mizuho Securities USA on the Debt Capital Markets team. Jason advised a diverse set of CFOs and Treasurers, giving him a deep understanding of debt and equity capital markets. Jason is a University of Michigan graduate with a B.A. in economics and US history.
Jason lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife, Chrissy. If he’s not in the middle of a book, you can find him on his Paddle Board, tending his tomato garden, or doing some other outdoor activity!
Rad is the newest member of our Compass family, and brings 15 years of wealth management experience to the team. After working for multiple large investment firms, Radford (“Rad”) learned how he didn’t want to treat clients. Those firms did things the wrong way, maximizing profits for the business while adding complexity for clients. At Compass, Rad takes the time to focus on getting to know clients. Focusing on where they are financially and what is keeping them up at night. Our goal is to give you confidence and clarity, putting you on the right track to meet your goals.
After earning his undergraduate degree in finance and marketing from Purdue University, Rad earned a degree in financial planning from Georgetown University. Rad is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ which allows him to take a holistic view of our clients’ financial picture. Rad focuses on both assets and liabilities, insurance, estate planning, and tax issues that clients may face.
Rad lives and works in Park City, Utah with his wife Kate and three daughters Ellie, Caroline and Whitney. In his free time he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and playing golf.
